Luis Mario Ochoa celebrates his birthday early April and will celebrate with two concerts at Bloom.

When Don Francks opens his mouth to sing, he takes his audience on a journey.
This celebrated singer and actor is widely regarded as one of the finest and most authentic jazz voices in Canada, having released several recordings including "Jackie Gleason Says: No One in This World is Like Don Francks" (with guitar legend Lenny Breau), "Lost and Alone" (featuring orchestra arrangements by conductor Patrick Williams) and the original motion-picture soundtrack to Finian's Rainbow; among others.
At 82 years young, Francks has just released "21st Century Francks", a live recording which features some of Toronto's best-loved jazz veterans, including his MD and pianist for over three decades, Steve Hunter. They will perform songs from the CD, with many surprises along the way.

April 17 is the final concert of the JAZZ.FM91 Cabaret Series (sponsored by Churchill Cellars) and stars Canada's premiere vocal group Cadence.
Carl Berger, Ross Lynde, Lucas Marchand and Kurt Sampson are all brilliant singers on their own but when they come together as Cadence they are simply one of the best acapella vocal ensembles in North America. Cadence has released four critically acclaimed studio albums and is featured on "A Blues for the New World" by David Clayton Thomas who described this foursome as "pure genius"!

Headlining the 10th anniversary edition of "Jazz Lives" are: 7-time Grammy Award winning vibraphonist Gary Burton; guitar virtuoso and winner of the "Best Pop Instrumental Album" for HandPicked at the recent Grammy Awards, Earl Klugh; star of the Academy Award winning documentary "20 Feet From Stardom" and backup vocalist for The Rolling Stones, the incredible Lisa Fischer; from Havana, the Harold López-Nussa Duo; Toronto's own New Orleans inspired party group, The Heavyweights Brass Band; the JAZZ.FM91 Youth Big Band; and a surprise special guest to bring the house down for JAZZ.FM91's 10th anniversary concert event!
"Jazz Lives" is the biggest concert of the year for JAZZ.FM91 and is presented by Don Valley North Lexus, with help from First Capital, Sunwing.ca, and Blue Note.
