Canada's noted surrealist; entertainer, producer, writer, on-air host and bon vivant, JAYMZ BEE is using his age to raise money for some charities and to showcase some of his favourite singers and musicians of various genres. He is turning 50 on April 13th and has organized seven days of events to celebrate.

Jaymz Bee has hand-picked his favourite folk artists and will host a diverse night of roots, blues and folk starring Juno winners Tony Quarrington and Julian Fauth; as well as appearances by Heather Luckhart, Tom Parker, Sahra Featherstone and Scarlett Jane! On top of all that, "the Frank Zappa of Canadian folk music", Joe Hall, will be coming into town to do a set as well! All the performers have been encouraged to bring their CD's and hang after the show for a meet and great.
Dinner seating begins at 6:00, show at 8:30. Best to get your tickets in advance. We recommend dinner reservations, the food is brilliant and reasonably priced.

Bonzai Suzuki is a pop band that released their debut CD last year.
The band is a collective that will feature anywhere from five to eight members and on this occasion performers include: Dave Howard, Sahra Featherstone, Bubz Magoo, Great Bob Scott and Jaymz Bee.
The band are currently recording a new batch of songs for a summer release. They will perform for one hour at 10:00pm (doors at 9:00pm) and following Bonzai Suzuki, Gia The Unpredictable and his trio will play their unique brand of Prog Rock and Jazz!

Jaymz Bee has released half a dozen albums with The RJO since 1995 and have performed in various major cities across North America.
Over the years the band has featured singers who have gone on to do big things, including Sophie Milman, Alex Pangman and Michael Buble. For this show, Jaymz is joined by many of his regular vocalists including Julie Michels, Roger Clown, Don Francks and many more. Jaymz celebrates his actually birthday night in Toronto's best-loved and oldest dance hall, with a swing dance party for 500 friends and fans!
Aside from four sets of live music there will also be appearances by Laura Landauer and Rick Miller...and for those who want to sing, there is Karaoke in the lower lounge! General tickets are $40 ($100 VIP tickets are basically sold out) and proceeds from the night will be donated to a new charity that provides counselling and emergency relief for the Canadian music community unisonfund.ca.
Please note: As this is a dance party, seating is shared (nobody should be sitting all night!) but there are seats in the ballroom, lower lounge and on the large patio/deck facing the lake. Coat check is mandatory and there is free mac and cheese and pizza to keep your energy up all night!

In 2001, Tony Quarrington fulfilled a ten-year dream when he recorded his Group of Seven Suite, performed at McMichael which is home to some of the paintings he's based his compositions on.
Eleven years later, he returns for another performance of his Juno Award winning CD, with his all-star band including Jane Bunnett, Brian Dickinson and Roberto Occhipinti. Jaymz Bee hosts. There is also a free concert by Chris MacKhool in the lobby, a tour of the paintings, delicious food and drink available and even a $5 shuttle bus from The Rex (Queen and University) to Kleinberg and back.

Gia & The Unpredictable Update is comprised of some of Canada's finest jazz musicians. Their sound is a daringly genre-defying blend of world, fusion, jazz, classical and progressive rock elements, one that places them in the vanguard of contemporary jazz. Gia and his band will perform at the prestigious Shanghai Spring International Music Festival – marking the first time a Canadian artist/group has been invited. In May 2013, they will travel to Shanghai to participate, and Canada will indeed be well-represented.
